Prevail V3, more specifically Prevail 3.91, 3.92, 3.93 and 3.94 have an underlying technical issue that may cause disruption on February 29th 2012. We recommend that this information is communicated to all Prevail end users so that planning and avoidance measures can be implemented accordingly.
THIS TECHNICAL ADVISORY IS ONLY FOR PREVAIL V3 USERS – ALL OTHER RELEASES OF PREVAIL (VERSIONS 4, 5 and 6) ARE NOT IMPACTED BY THIS TECHNICAL ISSUE.
On the 29th February, 2012 Prevail v3 may encounter an error message during its load sequence:

The date error of ‘2/29/1975’ (or similar) pertains to Prevail 3’s inability to recognize the 29th February (Leap Year) as a valid date. When this error is bypassed (by clicking OK) you may encounter further errors while working or accessing the Prevail calendar.
This error message may appear when accessing the Prevail 3.x calendar:

TToDo: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset.
Calendaring functions within Prevail, including the ability to schedule tasks and appointments may generate errors on the 29th February. Other functionality such as document merging, access to history and/or notes are not impacted by this technical issue.
Workaround:
Change your system date to either the 27th February or the 1st March 2012.

Advisory / Solution:
At this time there are no planned updates for Prevail v3. Please note that this is a technical issue that only occurs every four years on the day of the leap year - it will not be an issue again until the year 2016.
