Solution:
In this case, the 2003 server was not on network - the network cable had been physically removed from the server. For some reason, when installing ADS on a Windows 2003 server the service checks for network availability before starting. If it can't find a network it will result in a windows error code of 7001: ADS Initialization Failure: Service will be stopped - service error code 7001 - review system event log for more information.
This is not an issue on Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems. |
