10048 Bind Address already in use - Prevail Knowledgebase

When launching Prevail within a citrix or terminal services session it returns an error of "Bind address already in use".

This happens when the IP port already open by someone running Prevail on that server. Restarting the server may correct the issue for a while, but it will eventually return.

Disable TCP/IP in the Prevail settings and restart Prevail. If you're using Prevail 5 or Prevail 6 you will need to modify the setting in the registry as follows:

HKey Current User/Software/Prevail Settings/Network and set TCPIP and Network both to the value of zero (0)
