--------------------------------- It works! I had to repackage it up!
goto www.prevail.net/userfiles
• Login as guest.
• Prevail User Files / ADS / Advantage Upgrades / 7.1 / Dom_Vista.exe (renamed)
• Download and Run. Extract it to c:ADSVISTA
• Disable UAC on Windows Vista (see below)
Instructions
1. Right click on the Prevail ADS 7.msi and "Run As Administrator" (if you’ve already disabled UAC, just double click it) 2. Let the installer complete - it will not report that the Installation is Complete as it is a silent installer. 3. After installation is complete make sure that the Advantage Database Server service is STOPPED in the Windows Control panel / Services. 4. Run the ADSSTAMP.EXE program. C:Program FilesExtended SystemsAdvantageServerADSSTAMP.EXE * 5. Answer 'No' to the Modification Option Window. 6. Enter the client's ADS Serial Number and Validation Code. Click NEXT 7. You will receive a CheckSumMappedFile error. This is okay. Click OK 8. You will receive a Service Registration error. This is okay. Click OK 9. Run the ADS Configuration Utility. (C:Program FilesExtended SystemsAdvantageServerADS_CFG.EXE) * 10. Configure the number of Tables, Work Areas, Connections, Index Files and Data Locks as we normally do. 11. Go into the Windows Vista firewall and allow Ads.exe and port 6262.
* You may need to right click on the executable file in Windows Vista and select "Run as Administrator". You may find it easier to disable User Account Control (UAC) by following these steps. START > Run > msconfig.exe Tools > Disable UAC <launch> and reboot. |
